Recent Going Ons, Plenty-O-Travel
This past month and a half, I have been in one of two places: on the road traveling or editing through a lot footage.Since September 6th I have had the awesome opportunity to film in the following places: High Prairie, AB; Edmonton, AB; Quesnel, BC; and Nashville, TN. 14 of 30 days on the road, with more footage than I care to count, but it was so much fun and I got to meet a lot of really cool people along the way.
In High Prairie I got to meet the owners of EC Bar Ranch. The only corn maze in the High Prairie area. Living in Chilliwack, land of corn, I've never thought it was difficult to grow corn, but in High Prairie I found out it's not something farmers grow. I talked with Lyndon, owner of the ranch, he mentioned they wanted to try a corn maze and didn't even know if they could grow corn on his land, so they just tried it out. A mixture of great farming, quality soil and a weird temperature change in altitude on his land, his corn grew 10 feet tall the first year and this year over 13 feet tall. It's amazing. Lastly, a shoot I got to do in Quesnel over their big BC Rodeo Association weekend. Everything came together for this shoot like I've never seen before. We had an amazing sunrise and weather for the morning of the shoot. Our willing family on screen was so gracious and good looking. They let us shoot all over their ranch that morning. Then in post our music and voice over came out incredibly well. Check it out:
