Processing Ideas
I love ideas. I love the idea of an idea. I love them a lot. I get a lot of ideas. 90% or more usually go to the crap hole, but other then that I think I occasionally find a decent one.
I think I'm going to write more about how I work from coming up with ideas, to the idea itself to seeing it brought it to life. I think it will prove more useful for me then it will you, but I'll start working on that none the less.
Ideas can suck. They can get you excited, passionate one second and annoyed, frustrated and disappointed the next. Ideas are balloons above your head. Some need to be popped, others need more air... or maybe that's your head...
In the last month here I have had ideas I've held on to for a long time - year in fact - just start taking flight. New doors are opening my friend and they bring more ideas. I have never felt more excited and scared about the future then I do right now. The potential is astronomical! That's probably what I love about ideas - the potential. I'm a potentialist. I love potential. My wife is a realist. We sometimes don't see i to i. That's ok. It keeps me balanced, even though my scales tend to dip to the ideas side of life. I don't think I'd have it any other way.
A while ago I mentioned something on twitter about a stupid bear on the back of a camper/RV. That brought an idea I never knew could come to me but it did. I think that idea will see the light of day far before my idea of creating a robot slave that will automatically beat every punk kid on NHL09 on XBOX LIVE for me. Jerks.
Anyways, processing ideas is under way. It might be a one part series or a 5 parter we'll see!
How do you come up with ideas?
Cheers, Matthew A. Hawkins
