One Week - Movie Review
I had the chance to sit down for 2 hours this weekend and enjoy a great film. It's been quite a while since I've last seen a film that I felt so inspired by. 'One Week' was captivating, inventive, funny and charming. I finished watching it and was forced to look at my own life. I still am, two days later. Joshua Jackson was incredible. He played a man that was both humbled and confused from discovering his own mortality. He stumbled across a motorbike that he eventually bought and took us on a journey across the beautiful country of Canada. Both inspiring and beautifully shot, One Week has me thinking over what I would do if I only had one day, one week left to live.
There was a quote written on a chalk board at the end of the film that has stuck with me: "To Strive, to Seek, to Find, and not to Yield." It's a quote from Ulysses, which very much played a character throughout this film.
Michael McGowan wrote and directed 'One Week' and did a fabulous job. Witty, charming and thought provoking. A film that I will forever list as one that has helped me find myself and one that will inspire me in my goal to write, direct and act.
